The holiday you've been putting off? Let's make it happen.

Life's too short to keep postponing the next adventure. Whether it's a family holiday to Rarotonga, a European trip you've been planning for years, or a once-in-a-lifetime experience, Armstrong's Finance can help fund it.

What is a travel loan?

A travel loan is a personal loan that covers the cost of your trip, including flights, accommodation, tours, or all of the above. No need to wait years to save. A travel loan lets you go now and repay over a term that suits your budget.

We compare rates and terms across our lender panel to find the option that suits your situation. More lenders means more choice, and a better chance of finding travel finance that works for you.

What can you use a travel loan for?

From a luxury hotel in Sicily to a hostel in Paris, a travel loan can help cover:

Flights, ferries, and transport
Hotels, holiday homes, and accommodation
Travel insurance
Hire cars, campervans, or rental vehicles
Honeymoons, family getaways, or group travel
Tour packages, activities, and experiences
Cruises, ski holidays, or bucket-list adventures

Travel Loans

3 FAQsquestions
  • How much can I borrow for a holiday?

The amount you can borrow for a holiday depends on your personal situation and what the lender requires. We'll help you look at your budget and repayment options, so you can choose a loan amount that feels right for you. Our team is here to guide you every step of the way.

  • Can I use a travel loan for a domestic holiday in New Zealand?

Absolutely. Travel loans are great for more than just overseas adventures. If you're heading off on a South Island road trip, relaxing in Queenstown, spending a weekend in the Coromandel, or planning any kind of holiday around New Zealand, a travel loan can help with costs like accommodation, transport, activities, and more.

  • Is it better to use a travel loan or a credit card for a holiday?

It really comes down to what works best for you. With a travel loan, you get set repayments and a clear finish date, which can make it easier to plan your budget compared to a credit card. You might also find the interest rate is lower, depending on your credit history. We recommend looking at both options to see which one fits your needs. If you want to chat about what could work for your holiday, we're here to help.
